PSA: I dropped $800 on a fancy spray booth filter system and it was a total waste
Everyone in my local group swears by these high-end HEPA filter units for their spray booths, saying it's the only way to get a perfect finish. So I saved up and got one for my small shop, thinking it would be a game changer. After three months of use, I can't tell a single difference in the finish quality on my pieces compared to my old, well-maintained box filters that cost a fraction of the price. The air might be a bit cleaner, but for the kind of work I do, mostly refinishing older furniture, it just doesn't justify the cost. Has anyone else found that some of the 'must-have' expensive gear is just not worth it for smaller operations?
