Warning: that cheap sous vide circulator from Amazon died after 3 months
I bought a $60 sous vide circulator off Amazon for my pop-up kitchen and it stopped heating evenly after just 3 months of use. The temperature would jump 10 degrees, ruining a batch of short ribs I had prepped for service. Has anyone else had luck with a budget circulator holding up, or do I need to bite the bullet on a pricier one?

Read a chef friend say the Anova holds up way better for daily use.

Did you check the firmware on that thing? Some of the cheaper circulators need updates right out of the box to hold steady temps. I had one that bounced around until I plugged it into a laptop and fixed the software.
