Finally bit the bullet on a proper spray booth setup
After years of using plastic sheeting in my garage, I dropped about $800 on a portable spray booth with a real fan and filter system. I used it last week on a big mahogany dresser and the difference in finish quality is night and day, zero dust nibs. It felt like a huge expense at the time, but not having to re-sand and re-spray a piece saves so much time and material. Anyone have tips on keeping the filter costs down?

Zero dust nibs" is a pretty bold claim. I've had my booth for two years and still get the occasional bit of dust, especially with certain finishes. That garage air is sneaky. For filters, I just buy the big rolls of furnace filter material and cut my own. It's way cheaper than the pre-made ones.

Furnace filter material doesn't trap the fine stuff like proper booth filters do.
