Update: My coworker said 'it's just a box cutter, they won't miss it' when he took one home, and it's been bothering me for a week.
I realized if everyone thought that way about small things, the whole supply system at our warehouse in Dayton would fall apart, so is taking something that small without asking ever okay?

Totally agree with reporting it. That mindset is a slippery slope. We had a guy at my old job who kept taking rolls of packing tape, saying it was no big deal. Then it was a box of gloves, then a hand truck. It adds up fast and messes with inventory counts for everyone. Small things turn into big things when people think rules don't apply to them.

Yeah, that whole slippery slope thing @aarons36 mentioned is so real... reminds me of this time at a warehouse I worked at where someone kept "borrowing" a pallet jack without signing it out. Started as a quick thing, then it was gone for whole shifts... messed up the whole loading dock flow because nobody could find equipment. Creates this weird vibe where people just stop following any of the small rules.
