My friend's dog got loose and I had to choose: chase it or block the street.

Saw a loose labrador near a busy road in Columbus. I parked my car sideways to block a lane instead of running after it. Was that the right call or did I create more danger?

Wow, I always thought chasing was the only way. But hearing @uma_lopez mention "defensive block" makes total sense. You made one clear problem instead of a bunch of messy ones with cars swerving. That was smart.

Blocking the lane created a controlled hazard, way better than a panicked dog causing multiple swerves.
