At the grocery store, a lady took the last carton of eggs and put back a different, broken one.
I was at the Fresh Value on Oak Street yesterday, just grabbing milk. A woman in front of me reached into the cooler, took the last full carton of eggs, and then placed a different carton from her basket back on the shelf. I saw one egg in that carton was clearly cracked. She just walked off to check out. It felt sneaky, like she was making her problem the next person's problem. Is that a normal thing to do, or is it totally wrong? What would you have done if you saw that happen?

Ugh, that's so messed up. I read a thing online where people were talking about this exact move, calling it "carton swapping." It's basically passing the damage onto a stranger. Honestly, if I saw that, I'd probably grab the broken carton and just hand it right back to her at the checkout. Like, "Hey, you forgot your eggs." Put her on the spot. It's one thing if you accidentally break one and tell the staff, but this is just selfish.

No way, they actually have a name for it? That's wild, @ivan211.
