Showerthought: I finally understood turbo lag after a bad day at the truck stop in Boise
I was working on a 6.7 Powerstroke that just wouldn't pull right, and I kept chasing fuel issues. After three hours, an old timer walked over, heard it spool, and said, 'Kid, that's not the pump, you're listening to the wrong whistle.' He made me put my hand on the intake pipe while his buddy revved it. Feeling that long, empty second before the air actually hit my palm changed everything. Now I always do a physical check on the intake side before I even open the toolbox for a power complaint. Has anyone else had a simple trick like that completely flip how you diagnose a common problem?
