Rookie mistake with a fuel injector job almost cost me a 6.7 Powerstroke
I was swapping injectors on a 2017 F-350 at my shop in Phoenix last Tuesday. Got one of the hold-down bolts torqued wrong and cracked the injector body as soon as the truck fired up. Fuel started spewing everywhere and I had to shut it down fast, then spend $300 on a new injector and a tow bill. Anyone else had a fuel system job go sideways over something this small?

Man that's brutal, man. I've been there with stupid little mistakes that turn into a whole nightmare. Did a fuel pump on a Cummins last year and got a little happy with the torque wrench on the banjo bolt thing and snapped it clean off. Had to wait three days for a new one because nobody local stocked it. That feeling when you fire it up and hear something that ain't right, then see fuel spraying... your gut just drops. Hope your next injector swap goes smoother, these high pressure systems leave no room for error at all.

Cranked a cherry picker up one time with the outriggers still halfway up on one side, whole thing damn near tipped over with a guy in the basket. He was cool about it after he got down and stopped shaking, but my foreman made me buy lunch for the crew for a week. Sometimes you just gotta laugh at your own stupidity so you don't cry into your toolbox.
