Hot take: I used to think a 3/8 drive was fine for everything on a 6.7 Powerstroke.

I was trying to get at a turbo clamp bolt on a 2019 F-250 last week and my 3/8 impact just clicked, so I borrowed a buddy's Milwaukee 1/2 inch M18 and it zipped it right off, making me realize I need the right tool for the real stubborn stuff.

Yeah, that "right tool for the real stubborn stuff" is the whole lesson. You can get by with 3/8 for a lot, but why fight it? Once you feel that 1/2 inch gun not even hesitate, you just stop questioning the upgrade.

Switched to a half inch impact and never looked back.

Ngl, have you ran into any issues with clearance on tight engine bays though? I keep a 3/8 around for those jobs where the half inch just physically won't fit between the frame rail and the starter. But you're right for 90 percent of the stuff out there, the half inch just makes everything feel easy. You don't even have to think about it, you just grab it and it takes care of business.
