Had a real head-scratcher with a 6.7 Powerstroke that wouldn't start after a fuel filter change
I was finishing up a routine service on a customer's truck in the shop. After putting in the new filters and priming the system, it just cranked and cranked with no fire. I went back and checked my work, and realized I'd accidentally pinched the o-ring on the upper filter housing when I put the cap back on. It wasn't a full break, just enough to let air in. I pulled it apart, put a new ring in with a dab of oil, and it fired right up. What's your go-to method for making sure those housing seals seat properly without getting damaged?

Oh man, that's a classic! I actually never lube those housing o-rings, @evan151. I found a tiny bit of oil can make it slide out of place easier when you're tightening the cap. My trick is to make sure the groove is totally clean and dry, then set the ring in nice and even with my fingers. I go real slow turning the cap the first few threads to feel for any binding. If it feels smooth, you're golden.
