Finally got that diesel mower running after weeks of headaches
My neighbor's diesel lawn mower had a rough idle and kept stalling out under load. We checked the usual stuff like filters and injectors, but nothing fixed it. I decided to trace the fuel lines back from the tank and found a small kink near the pump. Straightening that out made all the difference, and now it runs smooth as ever. It was one of those simple things you overlook when you think it's something big. Felt pretty good to solve it without any fancy tools. What's the most basic fix that saved your day recently?

A kink in the fuel line? That's insane because those lines are built to handle some bending. It's surprising how such a small thing can make a diesel mower stall out. I always check the lines first now after a similar problem with my truck. Good catch on finding it without any fancy tools.

When you say those lines are built to handle bending, it makes me wonder why they fail anyway. Was the kink in your truck line from something rubbing against it over time, or did it get pinched during a repair? I've seen lines get soft and collapse from old age, not just a sharp bend. What did the bad section on your truck actually look like when you found it?

My 2005 F150 had a soft spot in the line near the tank. Always thought it was the filter but finding that kink changed my tune.
