Was super skeptical about managed switches until I saw the difference in our office

Our little design studio here in Portland has been running on a basic unmanaged switch for years. I figured hey, it moves data, what else do you need? But after we added 3 more workstations and started hitting slowdowns during client calls, my IT buddy loaned me a used Cisco SG250. The VLAN setup alone fixed our print queue traffic jams and now I can actually prioritize traffic for Zoom. Has anyone else had a switch upgrade completely change their workflow?

Wait, can the SG250 even do QoS for Zoom traffic?

nah tbh zoom traffic is usually pretty forgiving even without QoS. most modern routers handle that kinda stuff fine unless youre torrenting at the same time. sg250 is solid enough to prioritize packets on its own
