Swapped to managed switches at a small office, now the printer drops offline daily

I put in a pair of managed switches at a 12 person law office in Austin last month to get VLANs for their guest wifi. Everything worked for two weeks, then the receptionist's printer started dropping off the network every morning around 9:30. I turned on spanning tree and set the ports to access mode, but it still happens. Has anyone else seen managed switches break a simple flat network setup like this?

Honestly, I had this exact same thing happen at a real estate office in Denver. The fix for me was turning off spanning tree on the access ports entirely. Managed switches run that by default now and it caused the printer to bounce every time something else on the network blinked. Also, I set the printer port to a static speed and duplex instead of auto-negotiate. That stopped the daily drop in its tracks. Check the switch log around 9:30, youll probably see a port re-election or a BPDU issue right there.
