Question about switching from datacenter colocation to full cloud in Austin

After 14 months of running our stack on AWS, our monthly bill is $2,800 more than the colo contract we left, and nobody warned me that egress fees would eat us alive, so how do you all justify the move when the numbers just don't add up?

Did you factor in the cost of your own time babysitting hardware versus just paying AWS to handle it?
