PSA: One loose patch cable on our switch cost us 6 hours at the Reno office

Last Tuesday our whole floor at the Reno office dropped at 9:15am and stayed down til after 3. Nobody touched the racks, but a janitor's cart bumped a patch panel and one cable to the core switch came loose. We found it with a $12 cable tester after way too long of blaming the ISP and rebooting the firewall twice. Check your rack doors and cable ties, folks. Does anyone mount their racks with guards or is that overkill?
