Just found out my office switch runs at 85 degrees and still works fine
Was checking our server room temps last week and saw the Cisco 3750 sitting at 85F. Thought it was gonna fry. Looked up the spec sheet and it's rated for up to 104F. Never knew enterprise gear could handle that. Anyone else run switches in hot closets and never had issues?

Hard to trust that spec when I've seen two switches die at 90F exactly.

Yeah but "seen two switches die" doesn't really tell us anything. Were they cheap no-name switches or actual enterprise gear? Were they in a dusty warehouse or a climate controlled server room? I've had plenty of electronics fail at all sorts of temps. One time my router died in a 60F basement and another time I ran a switch in a 100F garage for years without issues. Hard to blame the whole spec on just two examples.
