Hit 1,000 switch ports managed and the real surprise was the power bill

We run a small managed services shop in Austin and I finally got our port count up to 1,000 across about 14 sites. I knew the hardware costs going in, but what I didn't expect was how much idle PoE devices were pulling. Last month's utility bill showed a 22% jump on one location after adding 30 cameras and phones that sit in standby overnight. We started scheduling power cycles on the switches and it cut that spike by nearly half. Anyone else track port counts against actual kWh per site, or just wing the power budget like I used to?
