Dropped $400 on a managed switch for a client's office and the firmware update bricked it within 10 minutes...
Had to overnight a replacement from Newark at 9 PM on a Tuesday, so that extra $85 in shipping really stung, has anyone else had a switch fail that fast?

Newark at 9 PM on a Tuesday, that's rough. I'm curious though, what brand and model was the switch exactly? I've seen some lower-end managed switches from certain brands (like TP-Link's older stuff) that have firmware that's basically held together with duct tape and hope. Was it a known brand like a Cisco or Netgear, or something more obscure? Because if it was something like a D-Link, I'd be wondering if the bricking was a known issue with that specific firmware version that should've been caught in QA.
