Clients keep sending me STP files when I ask for a flat PDF of their floor plan layout

I had three different jobs this week where I needed a simple single line drawing to plan cable runs and they all sent 3D models I can't even open in our mapping software. Ended up having to ask each one to export a 2D PDF which took another 48 hours of back and forth. Has anyone found a good way to explain to clients what format actually works for low voltage network planning?

48 hours of back and forth" is exactly how these things always go, isn't it? Maybe just add "2D PDF please" right in the first email so they can't miss it.

Started adding "PDF flatten all layers" to my subject line after a similar mess. Cut down the replies by a lot since they actually read the whole subject now. Still get the occasional "oh I didn't see that" but at least it's one email instead of ten.
