Caught a routing loop on a 3750 stack after 3 hours of troubleshooting

Last Thursday at a warehouse in Fresno I finally traced a spanning-tree issue that had been dropping packets for weeks. Has anyone else dealt with hidden loops after someone plugged in a consumer switch?

Three hours sounds rough. Last winter I spent a whole Saturday chasing a ghost in our server room, turned out to be a cheap 5 port switch someone hid under a desk to daisy chain some cameras.

Oh man, those cheap switches are the worst. I bet that thing was a pain to find too, hidden under a desk like that. At least you got it sorted out, even if it took all day.
