Was a pour-over snob until I tried a cheap plastic V60 yesterday
I always thought you needed a fancy metal dripper and a gooseneck kettle to make good coffee, but I found a $5 plastic V60 at a thrift store last week and gave it a shot. The plastic holds heat way better than my ceramic one, and the brew came out smoother without that bitter edge. Has anyone else switched back to a basic setup and been surprised?

Plastic holds heat way better than my ceramic one" is exactly what I found too. I switched from a glass V60 to a plastic one after my buddy brought his camping setup over, and the temp stability made my morning brew way less finicky. I still use my gooseneck for pouring control but the plastic dripper is honestly my daily driver now.

I mean, the whole 'holds heat better' thing with plastic V60s... I gotta be honest, I'm not totally sold that it's this huge game changer. Like, yeah, maybe it's a couple degrees difference, but is anyone really tasting that vs. a properly preheated ceramic one? @river_hart18 I get why you like yours for camping or whatever, but I feel like people online make it sound like you're making terrible coffee if you don't switch to plastic. Idk, maybe it's just me, but I think a good grind and water temp matter way more than what your dripper is made of. A $5 thrift find is cool, but I wouldn't call it a revelation, you know? Just seems like another thing to overthink in a hobby that's already full of it.
