Warning: I just picked a $200 hand grinder over a $600 electric one for my morning brew

I was tired of the noise and the big footprint on my counter. The manual grind takes about 45 seconds and the flavor is way cleaner and brighter. Anyone else make a switch like this and never look back?

Wow, I read that manual grinders give you way more control over the grind size.

Tell me about it. My electric grinder is so inconsistent, it drives me crazy. You can really feel the difference with a hand crank.

Yeah, I saw a video where a barista explained that hand grinders crush the beans instead of chopping them. That's supposed to pull out more of the good flavors. My electric one just feels like it heats everything up and makes it taste kind of burnt. I've been thinking about trying a manual one for a while now.
