Trying a coffee check-in made my project reviews less painful

My manager used to dive straight into numbers, which felt SUPER cold. I suggested we all grab a cup first and talk about what we're drinking, and it actually loosens everyone up. Do you have any other coffee-based icebreakers for tough talks?

Yeah, the whole "dive straight into numbers" thing is such a mood killer. Switching to coffee first is smart because it feels more like people talking, not just coworkers. Sometimes we'll even joke about whose brew is strongest that day before getting into the hard stuff. It makes the actual work talk way less tense.

Can reese11's team handle our coffee contest first?

Nice move shifting the vibe like that! Does that coffee chat time ever spill over into the actual meeting, like do people bring up work stuff more casually once you've started, or does it stay totally separate until you officially switch topics?
