Showerthought: my best coffee week started with a $12 garage sale find in Sacramento
Last month I grabbed a dusty old hand grinder at a garage sale on Folsom Blvd for $12, mostly because the wooden knob was pretty. Turns out the burrs were still sharp, and grinding beans by hand every morning for a week changed how I taste my coffee, the grounds come out so even that my usual drip pot tastes sweeter. I've been drinking the same Ethiopian beans from a local roaster for 6 months but they never tasted like this before. Anyone else notice a big jump from switching to hand grinding, or am I just fooling myself?
