Rant: Dialing in my espresso took 11 mornings, not 11 minutes

I figured the grinder settings on my new machine would be close enough out of the box, but no, every shot was either battery acid or watery mud. It took 11 straight mornings of weighing beans and timing pulls before I got a decent 25 second extraction. Anyone else spend a full week chasing that perfect crema?

Man, this hits way too close to home... it's like every new appliance these days ships with some fantasy version of "it just works" that never matches reality. I've noticed the same thing with my oven, air fryer, even the damn thermostat. Everything needs a week of trial and error before it does what the box promised on day one. It's like we traded the old "plug it in and pray" for "setup simulation" nobody signed up for.
