My French press routine just got wrecked by a $8 scale from Amazon
I've been making coffee with a French press for like 3 years now, just eyeballing the water and guessing on the beans. Last week I ordered a cheap digital scale just to see what the hype was about. Turns out I was using almost double the coffee I needed this whole time lol. The first cup I made with the scale was actually smooth instead of that bitter stuff I was used to. Now I feel kinda dumb for not trying this sooner but also hyped that my coffee just got way better for basically nothing. Has anyone else had a simple change like this totally flip their morning routine?

You were really using twice the coffee? That's wild. I used to think scales were for serious coffee snobs who wanted to be extra. But then I got one of those cheap ones too and it totally changed how I brew. I was always just guessing and my coffee was either too weak or way too bitter. Now I actually get a consistent cup every morning and it's way smoother. Its funny how such a small thing makes that big of a difference.

Right? It's crazy how just measuring instead of guessing turns everything around. Now I can't even imagine going back to eyeballing it, feels like a whole different level of control over the brew.
