My dad timed his coffee with a wind-up egg timer, I use a $12 scale from Target
Growing up my dad made drip coffee every morning and timed it with this old wind-up egg timer that sat on the counter. No measuring, just scoops from the can and a guess. I did the same thing for a long time until my wife got me a cheap kitchen scale about two years ago and told me to weigh the grounds instead of scooping them. Turns out I was using almost double what I needed, and my coffee went from bitter and muddy to something I actually look forward to. Does anyone else weigh their beans, or am I the only one who switched this late?
