Just realized light roast is not for me, and I tried for 8 months

I kept buying light roasts because every coffee person says that's where the flavor is, but after 8 months of sour cups I finally tried a medium roast from a shop in Grand Rapids and liked it way more. I mean, maybe I just never got the brew temp right. Anyone here actually prefer darker roasts and not feel bad about it?
