Hit 100 different beans this year and I'm shocked
I started keeping a little notebook back in January just to track which beans I tried. Nothing fancy, just the name and where I bought them. Last week I counted up and I'm at 106 different beans so far this year. That includes stuff from the fancy local roaster down the street, a bag I grabbed at a gas station in Ohio on a road trip, and a few I ordered online. I didn't think I'd hit three digits, feels weird seeing that number. Most of them were brewed on my old French press, no special gear. Has anyone else tracked how many different beans they go through in a year? What's your number?

My neighbor tried that Trader Joe's trick with coffee but he claimed it was intentional, said he was "dialing in" his brew for two months. Sounds like @palmer.henry just found the perfect bean for sleepwalking through the morning routine. 106 different beans in a year is an accomplishment though, and I bet the gas station Ohio bean was the real curveball. Probably pairs well with a road trip sandwich from a vending machine.

106 is a solid number... I started jotting down beans a few years back but gave up around 70 because my handwriting got so bad I couldn't read half the names. My real surprise came when I realized I'd been buying the same bag from Trader Joe's for two months straight without even noticing.
