Finally swapped out my $30 blade grinder for a hand burr grinder
I picked up a Hario Mini Mill for about $35 last month after years of using a cheap electric blade grinder from Target. The difference in my morning pour-over is huge - no more dusty fines mixed with big chunks ruining the flow. I still get a bit of inconsistency on coarser settings but for the price it's night and day. Has anyone else made a similar jump and felt like it changed their whole routine?

Honestly, I've got a friend who swears by his hand grinder but he also keeps a backup electric one for when he's half asleep. Tbh the whole ritual of manually grinding in the morning actually wakes me up better than the coffee itself sometimes. Ngl I still use my blade grinder for camping trips though, nothing beats that convenience when you're running on no sleep.

@river182 I do the same thing with a cheap Hario on my counter and a backup blade grinder in the camping bag, works perfect for those groggy mornings. Keep a little brush handy to clean out the burrs every few weeks, it helps with that coarse-setting wobble.
