Burned my hand at a latte art throwdown in Austin last month

I was at this competition at Fleet Coffee on a Saturday night. The barista before me left the steam wand dripping and I grabbed the pitcher without checking. Third degree burn on my palm, had to go to urgent care. Now I always wipe the wand and feel the pitcher before I touch it. Has anyone else had a close call like that at a competition?

Kind of a rough take there @piper_green. You can definitely get a third degree burn and still be typing a month later, just with a gnarly scar and some nerve damage. I've seen it happen at a comp in Portland a few years back, same situation with a wet pitcher.
