Vent: running a Mason's Mate brush on a 30-foot flex rod saved my elbow on a 1930s duplex in Akron
Had a chimney off a furnace flue that was caked with glazed creosote, and my old 8-inch round brush on rigid rods kept binding up about 12 feet in. Switched to a smaller Mason's Mate brush on a 30-foot poly flex rod and worked it in slow circles, and the glaze came off in sheets instead of fighting me the whole way. Curious if any of you older sweeps still reach for the whip and chain method on the really stubborn stuff, or is it flex rods all the way now?
