Pro tip: check the smoke chamber before you quote, a blocked one cost me half a day
Had a rough one in Akron on Wednesday that I want to warn you about. Showed up for what I figured was a normal 90 minute sweep, and the smoke chamber was packed solid with creosote, maybe 4 inches thick on the back wall. I didn't scope it before quoting, so I gave the guy $175 and ended up there 5 hours scraping and vacuuming. He was cool about it but I ate the time, and I had to push two other jobs to Thursday. Now I poke my phone camera up the chamber on every call before I give a number. Has anyone else had a job blow up like this because of a bad quote?
