I finally caved and put in a chimney liner after years of resisting

Always saw it as a waste of money, but a friend showed me his before and after creosote levels. Now I get why it's worth it.

Wasn't seeing the difference CRAZY? I waited way too long to get mine done.

Look at you seeing clear for the first time, must be a real shock to the system. Brace yourself for noticing every other tiny flaw you missed before.

Wait, for me it wasn't instant crazy? Like the first day everything was just way too sharp and intense. Street signs felt weirdly close, and I could see every single leaf on a tree from far away. It took my brain a few weeks to chill out and actually enjoy it. The real "wow" feeling came later, when I realized I wasn't squinting anymore.

My friend saw too much at first, like @derek939 said.
