Homeowner in Denver corrected my brush angle and it saved my back
I had this older lady, probably mid 70s, watching me sweep her flue last October. She told me I was holding the rods like a pool cue, all stiff at the waist. She showed me how to hinge from the knees and let the weight of the brush do the pulling. I brushed it off at first, but my lower back was screaming after 3 houses that day. Switched my stance on the next job in Aurora and felt the difference in 20 minutes. Now I tell every new guy to pay attention to old-timers, they've been at this since before we had rotary kits. Any of you had a customer correct your form and actually make you better?
