Stop painting trim before you caulk - neighbor called me out
My neighbor walked over while I was painting baseboards and asked why I didn't fill the gaps first. I had been painting for 2 years without caulking and wondering why it always looked cheap. That $4 tube of caulk made every room look professionally done - has anyone else missed an obvious step like this?
My first house I skipped caulking entirely because I thought it was just extra work for no reason. Then I helped my buddy finish his basement and saw how clean everything looked after one simple pass with caulk. Now I won't even touch a paintbrush until every gap is sealed and it makes a world of difference.
