Paint vs wallpaper for a small bathroom - what I learned

I was trying to fix up my tiny guest bathroom in my house in Columbus, and I had to pick between painting or putting up wallpaper. The room is maybe 5x7 feet with no window, so I was worried about making it feel even smaller. I ended up going with a peel and stick wallpaper from a store near me for about $35 total. The installation took me about 4 hours because of all the cutting around the sink and toilet, but the pattern hides the old drywall flaws pretty well. My neighbor painted her similar bathroom white for $20 and it looks clean but honestly kind of boring. Has anyone else tried wallpaper in a tight space and regretted it or liked it better than paint?

Paint peels too easy in humid bathrooms. Stick with quality paint.

Did you use a primer underneath the wallpaper?
