My neighbor swears peel and stick tiles last 10 years, but the box in my garage says 2
Everyone on here keeps pushing peel and stick backsplash tiles as the cheap fix, and I get why, they look fine and cost about $80 for a kitchen. Then I actually read the box on the 12x12 sheets I grabbed at a store in Toledo last month. The fine print says 2 year indoor life and do not use near heat or steam, which is exactly where a kitchen backsplash lives. My neighbor put hers up 3 years ago and they are curling at the corners above her stove already. So what is everyone actually using that holds up without paying a tiler $600?

Those 2 year stickers are there for a reason, not fine print nobody reads. Neighbor got lucky-ish, she's only got curling, not a grease fire. Ceramic is worth the extra cash, no way around it.
