My kitchen went from a cave to a bright room for under $30
The old light fixture had a single 60-watt bulb that made everything look yellow and dark. I swapped it for a basic 4-pack of LED daylight bulbs from the hardware store and painted the ceiling a flat white. The change was instant, like someone turned on the sun. Has anyone else tried just changing the light bulbs to fix a gloomy space?

Oh man, that reminds me of my buddy's old apartment. His whole place felt like a dungeon, especially the bathroom. He was convinced he needed to redo everything. One weekend, I just went over and swapped all his old yellow bulbs for bright white LEDs. He walked in later and just stood there blinking, said it felt like a totally different room. He couldn't believe the fix was that cheap and easy. It's crazy what a difference the right light makes.

My last place had that exact problem, the kitchen was so dim I kept burning stuff. Spent like twenty bucks on a pack of daylight bulbs from the hardware store and it was a total game changer. Suddenly I could actually see what I was cooking. It's wild how much a simple bulb swap can change your whole mood in a room.

My buddy swapped out a single 60w bulb in his hallway and it totally changed how the whole place felt coming in the door. @seth_green85 thats exactly what I told him, people sleep on how much light quality shapes a room way more than fixtures or paint. It's honestly the easiest ten dollar home upgrade you can do.
