My $12 curtain rod hack that looked like a million bucks for about 3 weeks
I needed a cheap way to cover up my ugly window blinds without spending real money. Found a wooden closet dowel at the hardware store for $3 and some discount curtain rings for $9. Hung some old bedsheets on it and thought I was a genius. Fast forward about a month and the dowel started sagging in the middle like a sad banana. Has anyone else tried this and found something sturdier that doesn't cost $40?

My IKEA nightstand lasted exactly 23 days before a leg snapped off during a late night water grab. I swear you can hear your wallet quietly crying after week two when the particle board starts to give up on life. Guess we're both paying that interest rate in full now.

Sit there and pretend you didn't hear that particle board groaning every time you roll over in bed. I had a desk from there that started sagging in the middle by month two, looked like a sad trampoline for my laptop. The real joke is when you go back to buy the replacement parts and spend more than the whole thing cost new. At this point, my wallet's just learned to accept the monthly payment plan for peace of mind.
