I tried peel-and-stick wallpaper vs real paint and I'll never go back to paper

I spent 40 bucks on a roll of peel-and-stick for my half bath accent wall. Looked decent for maybe 3 weeks then the corners started peeling up in the humidity. I ripped it off and spent 15 dollars on a quart of paint and a cheap brush instead. Took me 2 hours to do a simple stripe pattern and it still looks perfect 6 months later. The wallpaper was faster to install but way less durable for the same price. Has anyone else had bad luck with peel-and-stick in bathrooms or kitchens?

Honestly wallpaper is a scam for bathrooms. Humidity kills that adhesive every time, no matter the brand. Paint is way more reliable and cheaper long run.

But what about the vinyl wallpaper that's supposed to be waterproof, does that stuff actually hold up?
