I finally figured out how to make old kitchen cabinets look new for under $20
I was at my friend's place in Springfield last month and saw she had painted her cabinet doors but left the frames alone. It looked weird. She told me she ran out of the Rust-Oleum cabinet paint after two coats. I went home and did mine properly, sanding everything first and using a whole quart of that same paint. The key was taking the doors off and using a small foam roller. Has anyone else tried this method and found a better paint brand?

Yeah, I saw a blog post that said the foam roller is key for a smooth finish. They were really pushing this brand called Insl-X, said it levels out better. Might be worth looking into for the next project.

Actually had a bad time with foam rollers, left tiny bubbles everywhere. Good brush and taking your time works way better for me. That Insl-X stuff is crazy expensive too.

I mean, sanding everything just makes a dusty mess and the paint sticks fine without it anyway.
