Finally painted my front door after staring at peeling paint for a year

I had this gross peeling paint on my front door for like 12 months and just ignored it. Last weekend I sanded it down and put on a fresh coat of navy blue that cost $18 at the hardware store. The difference is wild, my whole porch looks brighter and more put together now. Has anyone else put off a small paint job way longer than you should have?

Disagree completely. That peeling paint was a character feature. Gave your house some lived-in personality. Now it just looks like every other cookie-cutter navy door on the block. Bet you miss the cracked spots where you could see the old color underneath. That patina was earned over a year of neglect. Now it's gone forever.

Be real - did you ever actually sit and admire that "patina" or were you just too lazy to fix it for a year? And that navy color's a classic, not some trend - you're acting like she painted it neon green with glitter.
