Faux wood blinds vs real wood - the $38 difference was huge

I put real wood blinds in my living room last year and cheap faux wood ones in the bedroom. The real ones cost $78 per window and the faux ones were $40. After six months the faux ones already have a weird yellow tint from the sun and one slat is warped. Has anyone else noticed cheap blinds looking bad way faster than expected?

Yep @johnfoster that matches what I saw, my cheap ones yellowed within months too.

Did you get the cheap ones from a big box store or online? I put faux wood blinds in my kitchen three years ago and they still look brand new, no yellowing or warping. Maybe it depends on the brand or the quality of the plastic they use. I spent about $50 per window for mine and they've held up fine even with direct sun coming in for half the day. Sounds like you just got a bad batch or went too cheap on the bedroom ones.
