Took me three years to figure out I was repotting my snake plants all wrong
I had this big snake plant in my living room that kept getting yellow leaves at the base. I figured it needed more room so I kept moving it up to bigger pots. Finally last month I pulled it out and saw the roots were all rotted because the soil stayed wet too long in those giant pots. A guy at the local nursery in Portland told me snake plants actually like being tight in their pots. Now I have it back in a smaller container and the new growth is already looking healthier. Anyone else make this mistake with their snake plants?

That tight pot thing is a good reminder that sometimes less is more in all areas, not just plants. We tend to overcorrect when something seems off, when often the simplest fix is just leaving it alone.
