That $90 'rare' orchid cutting that turned out to be a weed
Bought a supposedly rare phalaenopsis cutting off an online auction last month, ended up being an ordinary dendrobium I could get at any hardware store for twelve bucks. Anyone else get scammed by those fancy plant resale sites, or am I just the only sucker here?

Guess I have a backyard full of mystery plants that are all probably just weeds with good marketing. My last big score turned out to be a fern that grows wild behind my garage. At least the $90 dent in my wallet taught me to stick to the local nursery where the prices match the reality.
