Stuck between ordering seeds online or hitting the local nursery today
I spent like 2 hours this morning trying to decide if I should order my native wildflower seeds from a big online place or just drive over to Green Thumb Nursery across town. Ended up going local cause I wanted to see the plants in person and ask the old guy there some questions. Big mistake honestly. Their selection was half dead and the dude just shrugged when I asked about soil for milkweed. Paid $45 for a bag of mix that turned out to be full of weed seeds too. Now I'm staring at my garden bed wondering if I should rip it all out and order online anyway. Anyone else have worse luck with local stores than online?

Heard a gardening podcast guy say local nurseries often get stock from the same big distributors as online places. Just repackaged and marked up. That $45 bag thing is brutal. Had a buddy order a "native mix" from a random website, got like 80% non-native grasses and a ton of crabgrass. At least with online you can read reviews first. Maybe check some seed swap groups on Facebook instead.

Well shoot, that actually makes a lot of sense. Changed my mind on this one.
