Taking your time with a plant ain't a waste if you learn something from it.

WAIT. THREE hours? On a rootbound fern? That's CRAZY. You could have just popped it out, loosened the roots, and put it in a bigger pot in like twenty minutes tops. I get being attached to a plant but THREE HOURS man. What were you doing in there, like filing each individual root down with a nail file? You must have been SO determined to save that thing.
