Spent $65 on a rare monstera node from an Instagram seller and it arrived as a mushy black stick
I saw this variegated monstera node listed for $65 plus $12 shipping from a seller in Tampa and the photos looked amazing so I jumped on it. When the box got here after 5 days in the mail, the node was wrapped in a dry paper towel with no moss and no humidity pack, and it was already soft and turning black at the cut end. I tried to root it in water anyway but it rotted out in under a week, and the seller just stopped replying to my messages. I've bought plenty of cuttings locally at plant swaps for $10 or less that rooted fine, so I should have known better than to trust a fancy listing. Does anyone have a seller or a swap group they actually trust for shipped nodes, or should I just stick to buying whole plants I can see in person?
