Serious question, did my peace lily just teach me about patience?

I moved it from my dark living room corner to the bathroom window in January, and for three months it just sat there looking sad. Then last week, it suddenly pushed out two perfect white flowers, and I realized the humidity from the shower was the key all along. Has anyone else had a plant surprise them like that after a simple location change?

Forget the light theory from wendy674 for a second. It's about the plant's internal clock finally syncing up. That lily was in a dark corner for who knows how long, basically hibernating. The move shocked its system, but it still took months to reset and actually do something. The humidity was the final trigger, but the real lesson is that plants operate on a timeline we can't see. They make changes underground before anything shows up top.

Honestly, I think it was just finally getting enough light.

Totally get that. Read an article once about how plants basically have a whole hidden schedule we mess with when we move them. Your lily was probably just finishing up its long, confusing adjustment period in the new spot before it felt safe to bloom. The humidity was like the final green light it was waiting for. Makes you wonder what else they're doing that we just don't see.
